10 Simple Ways to Fight Poverty Every Day:

1. Collect canned goods with your family/neighbors/ classmates/coworkers. During the summer, pantry donations are low and needs are even higher with children home from school!!

2. Organize a sock drive to collect new socks and underwear for adults and children.

3. Keep mini-shampoos, conditioners, soaps, and lotions from hotels and trips to be used for homeless care packs.

4. Buy one extra set of school supplies for an underprivileged child for the Back To School Drive.

5. Drop off your gently used blankets, dishes, furniture, and children's toys at GASA's two thrift stores.

6. Volunteer at GASA's childcare centers or food pantries, or attend the agency volunteer day in August.

7. Tell a friend about GASA's mission and work.

8. Attend an event, like the golf tournament, fall trivia night, or Christmas program.

9. Donate your spare change! Keep a jar for change, and donate the contents at the end of each month. Even $5 can make a difference--it will feed a child for a day, buy a mother appropriate work pants, give a senior a pair of glasses, or defer the cost of gas for a father to drive to work.

10. Don't feel judgmental or guilty about the poor, they are your neighbors, so take action and help!
